Stewartby Sign 2Welcome to all visitors

  to Stewartby United CHURCH

Who are we?

Stewartby United Church consists of a small and very friendly group of Christians, of different ages and backgrounds. Whoever you are, you are assured a very warm welcome at Stewartby United Church.

We believe that anyone can have a relationship with God. We believe that this relationship with God is possible because of Jesus (God's only Son) who invites us to follow him. We have friendly relationships with other local churches from both traditional and modern backgrounds. If you are interested in exploring the Christian faith then please come along on a Sunday or contact us via the website, phone or email.

When to arrive:

Our services, which are on 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, start at 3pm. If you are driving then you'll be pleased to hear that there is plenty of  parking on the road outside the church. For directions to reach us please see the Find Us page. You'll be greeted on the door by a church member who can give you information about the church and its facilities, and answer any questions you may have.

What to wear:
This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you're not. Whether you come as a suited businessman or a punk that is fine with us.

fgWhat to expect:
For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here's a quick summary of what you can expect at Your Church. First of all we aren't super-spiritual beings, we all had a 'first day' at church, you'll find we are a friendly bunch, if you don't understand something please simply ask. Our meetings start at 3pm usually with a few minutes of notices, keeping us informed of diary dates, etc. After this, our worship time consists of songs, readings from the Bible and prayers, with some additional items on occasions.  We have a talk from the Bible that is relevant and meaningful to our modern lives. You are free to join in with the singing or simply observe what's going on, and no one is "put on the spot"! Tea and coffee are served afterwards. Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years that you should be encouraged and inspired by the morning. We hope that everyone will draw closer to God.

Is it just Sundays?

Absolutely not! God is with us all week long and we aim to lead lives pleasing to him. We're not perfect and we do make mistakes, but we desire to make a positive difference in everything we do. To further encourage us we have a midweek small group which meets in a member's house. Small groups are a great way to get to know others in the church and to be real with each other about everyday living. If you are just looking into Christianity you are welcome to come along to a small group. We will do our best to answer any questions that you might have.

For those with special requirements:
We aim to be a loving and welcoming church for everyone. All of our premises are accessible for those with disabilities. The audio is amplified and we have a hearing loop. If you wish to discuss specific needs please contact us.
